One Step at a Time

Stair climbing is probably one of the most challenging daily activities we can encounter.  It is also one of the most frequently talked about “improvement areas” I hear from many patients!  Stair climbing is a great way to improve you abilities and endurance, because you are literally carrying your bodyweight while fighting against gravity.

Stairs are essential structures in the places we work, live, and visit—so focusing on improving our endurance can go a long way.  The American Lung Association has decided to use stair climbing activities as their new fundraising event this year, and I had the chance to work with them on the training guide to help people build up their endurance.

The training guide I put together focuses on helping everyone build up their endurance starting from all different fitness levels.  If you can walk 15 steps in a row…you can do this!  Check out this link to open up the training guide.  Also visit this website to check out the ALA Fight for Air Stair Climb event. Hope to see you there!
